Comparison — from the record, 2026-08-29

Flodesk vs GetResponse: design tax, measured

OUR PICK

Our pick: GetResponse — more platform for less money, unless the templates are the reason you're buying.

Both vendors publish an entry price for the same list size, which is rare and makes this comparable: at up to 1,000 subscribers, Flodesk Lite is $25 a month ($19 on annual billing) and GetResponse Starter is $19 ($15.58 annual). GetResponse's ladder then climbs into segmentation, automation and ecommerce at $59 and $69, where Flodesk's climbs to $28 and $54 while staying an email design tool.

The other way: Pick Flodesk if the way your emails look decides whether people read them. Its editor and templates are the reason it exists and the reason people stay, and no comparison table captures that. At $28 for its middle Pro plan it is also cheaper than GetResponse's $59 Marketer if you want a step up without a platform attached.

How to read this page: every number below was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on the date shown, and the pages are re-checked daily. Currencies differ because that is what each vendor showed an EU visitor. Some links on this page are affiliate links — if you subscribe through one we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Per our method, that never changes a number or a verdict. Source links always point to the vendor’s plain page.

The two pricing pages, side by side

These two are not quoted in the same currency. Flodesk is priced in USD and GetResponse in EUR, as each page showed it to us. Figures below are what each vendor charges, not a conversion — ranking them against each other depends on the rate your bank applies, and paying in a foreign currency usually adds a fee on top.

What the record says

This pairing is unusually easy to compare honestly, because both companies anchor their entry price to the same list size. Flodesk's page states that starting prices for up to 1,000 subscribers are Lite $25 a month, Pro $28, and Everything $54, with annual billing taking those to $19, $25 and $49. GetResponse's page says its prices are bracketed by list size, starting at $19 per month for unlimited messages to 1,000 subscribers. Same list, published figures, no conversion required.

At that anchor GetResponse is cheaper — $19 against $25 — and it stays cheaper on annual billing at $15.58 against $19. But the interesting comparison is the middle of each ladder rather than the bottom. Flodesk's Pro is $28, only three dollars above its entry plan. GetResponse's next step, Marketer, is $59. If you want more than the starter tier, Flodesk's ladder is far gentler; GetResponse's second rung costs more than double Flodesk's third.

What that steeper climb buys is a different category of product. GetResponse's upper tiers carry segmentation, automation and ecommerce tooling; Flodesk stays what it is, an email design tool with unlimited sends. Neither is pretending otherwise. The mistake is treating $59 and $28 as competing prices when they are prices for different jobs.

Currency is the last thing to check before you decide, and it moves the answer. On the same day, GetResponse quoted €16 in Germany and £13 in the United Kingdom against $19 in the United States, while Flodesk quoted US dollars to all three. A reader in London is weighing £13 against $25 — a wider gap than the dollar-to-dollar comparison shows, and one that most articles about these two never mention.

Beyond the price tag

Same list size, published by both

Flodesk states its prices are for up to 1,000 subscribers; GetResponse names the same 1,000-subscriber bracket for its $19 tier. That shared anchor is why this comparison can be made cleanly, and why we quote both at that size rather than at whatever the pages happened to open on.

The ladders

Flodesk: Lite $25 ($19 annual), Pro $28 ($25), Everything $54 ($49). GetResponse: Starter $19 ($15.58), Marketer $59 ($48.38), Creator $69 ($56.58). Flodesk's steps are small; GetResponse's second step trebles the price.

Design against platform

Flodesk's templates and editor are its whole argument, and for brands that sell on how things look that is a genuine differentiator rather than a nicety. GetResponse's argument is breadth — the tooling around the email rather than the email itself.

Currency

Flodesk quoted US dollars to our readers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany alike. GetResponse quoted $19, £13 and €16 respectively. Outside the United States, GetResponse's price advantage widens.

Questions people actually search

Which is cheaper at 1,000 subscribers?

GetResponse: $19 a month against Flodesk's $25, and $15.58 against $19 if you pay yearly. In the UK and Germany the gap is wider, because GetResponse charges £13 and €16 there while Flodesk still charges dollars.

Did Flodesk not used to have one flat price?

It did, and that was its whole identity. Flodesk's own pricing FAQ dates the retirement of the flat-rate unlimited plan for new members to December 2, 2025. Pricing now scales by active subscriber count like everyone else, which is why the three-tier ladder above exists at all.

What does Flodesk's middle plan add?

Pro is $28 a month, three dollars above Lite, and its page describes Lite as limited to one workflow automation and 25,000 subscribers, with Pro as the more popular plan. If you have hit Lite's automation limit, that is an unusually cheap step up — cheaper than any step GetResponse offers.

Which should I pick if I sell products by email?

GetResponse, on what each publishes. Its upper tiers carry ecommerce tooling that Flodesk does not attempt. Flodesk's case is that better-looking email sells more of whatever you already sell, which is plausible and not something a pricing table can settle.
